Electronic Components Distributor

The client is a leader in electronics component distribution with a $1.5 million annual telecom spend.

Challenges

The initial requirement was a web-based tool to track and report on inventory, identify and remove surplus telecommunications services as well as reclaim illigitimate third party services.

Solution

Working together, the client’s inventory was surveyed by Valicom and all the details populated in Clearview, Valicom's software.  This involved a combination of CSR (customer service record) analysis and development of a physical inventory.

The client’s telecom invoices were all processed and archived by Valicom using data capture scanning.  This made the data available in multiple formats for viewing and reporting.

Then client personnel were trained on utilizing Clearview for inventory management and reporting.  Valicom also provided customized reports to show specific services that may be redundant.

Finally, Valicom identified numerous illegitimate third party charges and worked with the carriers to have them removed and credit issued.

Results

Valicom delivered savings of $9,000 per month by eliminating unnecessary business lines, unused circuits, and 30 illegitimate third party charges. Over $107,000 in annual savings have been realized so far.
